The Paris Guide: My Favorite Florists in Paris

Filed in: Field Guide

Something I love about Paris is the abundance of florists and flower markets. It’s hard to take a long stroll and not fall on something absolutely delightful. So here’s another running list for you, to be updated as I make more discoveries. My favorite florists and flower markets in Paris, voilà!

This one’s not too far from the Eiffel Tower, and the sidewalk display is what stopped me the first time. Ornate, a little moody, opulent is really the word I’m searching for. Beautiful metal sculptures and lusciously green plants; vibrant flowers…it was a coup de coeur! Plus, it’s a Meilleur Ouvrier de France. That means it’s one of the best in the field in France. (Did not mean to make that joke.)

15 Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg 75007

Open Monday-Saturday 9h-20h

  • Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elisabeth II

This marché is on Île de la Cité, jus around the corner from Notre Dame and situated right outside the Métro. You have no excuse not to take a gander through the stalls, where you can find everything from cut flowers to baby fruit trees; seeds; and gardening accessories. (Peep the frog.) It’s double deeeeee-lightful — flowers and a classic view of the centre of Paris. I believe (have not seen, but have literally heard) small birds are for sale as well…or are the pets of some of the shopkeepers.

37 Place Louis Lépine 75004

Open all week 9h30-16h45

  • Cler Fleurs

Rue Cler is known as a cute little market street, and it has several florists to match. Cler Fleurs has a jolly yellow awning and buckets of blooms spilling out onto the sidewalk. Roses, peonies (pivoines en français), tulips, and other varieties; all joyful with color! After you’ve gotten yourself an armful of flowers, stop at an equally colourful café for a snack.

46 Rue Cler 75007

Open Tuesday-Saturday 9h30-20h; Sunday 9h30-14h

  • Gan Eden

I stumbled on this one while on a five-mile stroll through the 16th arrondissement — it might be the sole reason I come back! The 16th is a very quiet neighbourhood (from what I could gather on this stroll) and not too exciting…but this was fun to come across! It’s in a quiet plaza across the circle from an Italian restaurant that has a jolly lime-green Fiat (?) parked in front.

7 Place de Mexico 7016

Happy flower finding!
