[A Paris Portrait Engagement Session at Trocadéro, Pont Alexandre III, and the Palais Royal. These are a few of Laura and Polo’s favorite spots in Paris!]
Spring is sprung, which means one of my favorite places, Trocadero, is awash with golden light. Rising with the sun, I was surprised that a good number of people had also decided to drag themselves out of bed — but once I started taking photos, it was easy to see why waking up at 6 a.m. was totally worth it!
I met Laura in French class (in Paris!) at the beginning of January, and she’s the sweetest! Always kind (it’s in the eyes), always a smile, always pleasant. A true joy to be around. Our first adventure together was to taste-test a croissant in the 12e arrondissement — the croissant was very mediocre but the company was lovely.
Laura left Mexico for a year in France after deciding she needed a pivot, and I admire that! I would find it hard to take that leap in my late 20s…but Laura did it and she’s thriving!
She and Polo met at university — she was teaching Italian, he was teaching French! (Our photo session was conducted in French!) The language teachers would gather together from time to time and hang out. Laura was the one who made the first move and sent him a friend request on Facebook.
Six years and many countries later (including the United States, Spain, Italy, and Malta), they’re finally in the same place to stay. Laura and Polo, it was a joy to have you in front of my camera. I wish you many beautiful adventures together!
